Life with us
Life with Arena Animation, Sector 17, Chandigarh is very different from other Institutes. With a sprawling 5000 sq ft area including a nice outdoor lounge more than 1200 sq ft, the students have ample space to work, enjoy and discuss and even practice the latest gangnum dance steps, make a nice sketch of a model or just paint their faces with their feelings. Sometimes faculty impulsively move their classes to this area to work on group assignments or workshops. The studio gives the feel of an elite restaurant and the large window overlooking the green swaying trees tend to let you get lost as you llook up from work, and then within seconds you are fresh for another bout with your assignment.
Life as an Artist could be tough with a lot of need to increase one's domain knowledge. Our library (touted as the best library on animation within the country) stocked with International Books on all topics related to the field comes to the rescue here. Not discounting the need to broaden one's imagination, it also has good novels and even copies of international magazines on character design.
Our students also participate in deadline based competitions like the famous GO48! to check their competitiveness against deadlines.
Students celebrate local festivals with fervour and international students find the city the most endearing amongst all cities of india. The nice layout and friendliness of the city is famous across india especially in case of foreign students coming to india to study.
Foreign students also usually fall in love with the punjabi cuisine after an initial resisitance (understandable). Anyway, punjabi chicken tandoori is anyway famous around the world. But once you get to savour the samosas and chaat of chandigarh you're bound to fall for it. Eating out is also very cheap and reasonably healthy. Even cooking one's food at the flat is a good option with the fresh vegetable prices in the city touted to be one of the cheapest across India.
PG (paying guest) accomodation is easily available in the city at a reasonable cost. Usually one can enjoy homemade food at their PG with the landlady usually handling the cooking personally. Alternatively somestudents in their later semesters may decide to rent an entire flat together with their batchmates to focus better on their studies (however, sometimes this leads to reckless partying so discretion is advised here)
Distances are short in Chandigarh and even a bicycle is handy. Alternatively one can find and use public transport at very low cost.
